Reach Your 2019 Money Goals with these Seven New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year, friend!

Like many of you, 2018 was a year of incredible growth for me. With growth comes pleasurable and painful moments. My theme for 2018 was self-expression and I asked the Universe for unique, creative opportunities to share my gifts. Little did I know how much expressing myself would be open me up for some much needed lessons in order for me to grow into the woman I yearned to become.

Don’t get me wrong - 2018 was absolutely fabulous. As I shared on my Instagram post, I added over $20,000 to my personal savings, expanded the Socialites (our brand ambassadors) group, did a TV show, a music video, completed a week-long digital detox with my beloved in Belize

However, I found myself in a lot of situations where I felt attacked. My way of living/BEing, my philosophy on life, my approach to money and how I believe it should be taught- was heavily questioned, if not ridiculed.

While “attacking” may not have been the intention of these unnamed folks, I felt it. And I’ve built enough confidence over the years to know that I how I feel, matters.

With that said, through those experiences I realized that there were some gaping holes in my confidence. There were several instances when I could have spoken up, but didn’t…even though I wanted to. And instances when I doubted my beliefs.

After reflecting on these moments, I learned that I needed to dig deep and find a way to strengthen my resolve in three ways.

Step one: doubling down on my own financial education. I was already reading about money on the daily, but I increased the amount of time I spend doing research on how to be rich.

Step two: getting back to the dance floor. Getting into my body through dance has been my savior - from my season of deep depression to now, when I needed to get my sexy back.

Step three: elevating my outward appearance. I started working with wardrobe stylist, Andrea Faye, to cleanse and upgrade my closet. She helped me choose a color palette that makes my skin glow, purge clothes that no longer fit my inner sophisticated BOSS, and create a list of items I need to buy to rebuild my wardrobe. Talk about a confidence boost.

Taking these three steps allowed me to tap back into my deep desire. That deep desire, yearning, that we all have. The desire to reach our highest potential. But we hesitate to say it because we don’t want to be seen as arrogant, vapid, perhaps vain.

For me, my deep desire is to be rich, sexy and confident. Yes, I said it.

2019  is MY time to shine. I am owning it and loving all up on it.

And I invite you to join me on this journey. I’ve hired an incredible editor, and together we are elevating the content on Money & Mimosas to an EXTRAORDINARY level to give you the tools you need to make this year YOUR #ShineTime.

What does it mean to shine?

  1. It means sharing your gifts. Scream your skills, services and products from the mountaintops. The world needs YOU.

  2. It means speaking your truth. Gone are the days of being nicey nice and polite. That shit doesn’t work and it leaves you drained, unable to share your gifts. The world needs to HEAR YOU.

  3. It means acknowledging your accomplishments. As Drake states, “being humble doesn’t work as well as being aware.” Fuck those people that wanna downplay your knowledge and expertise. You know exactly what you’re doing and you deserve to be at the table. The world wants to CELEBRATE YOU.
