Money Date With EcoVibe

Every Friday I recommend having a money date…with a mimosa. Hence the name of my blog, Money & Mimosas.

Your money date is your special time to review your finances, celebrate your wins, and reflect on how you used your money to make a difference. Feel free to do it alone or with your money buddy. If you’d like a step-by-step guide for your money date, click here to download your free checklist.

In these money date articles, Money & Mimosas features small to medium-sized businesses that are aligned with our values. This fall, we are focusing solely on eco-friendly beauty and home brands to help you make more conscious choices to help the environment.

This week we are featuring EcoVibe, an apparel and home store in Portland, Oregon that believes living a sustainable lifestyle should not be a privilege.

Founded in 2010 by Leonard and Andrea Allen, their goal was to combine sustainable and ethical practices with the style, look, and energy of home decor and apparel. Additionally, they also wanted to be sure that a sustainable lifestyle was accessible to all by emphasising the importance of it in multiple areas, including the people you surround yourself with, the products you purchase, and having a conscious mindset when shopping.

Unlike ordinary retailers, EcoVibe considers where and how the products they sell are made. According to their website they, “support local designers, women, minority and family owned businesses and small makers and manufacturers,” while also being community focused and giving back to environmental causes.

They do this by donating 1% of all their online sales to 1% For The Planet, which was created by Yvon Chouinard (founder of Patagonia) and Craig Mathews (founder of Blue Ribbon Flies). Both of them recognized that companies profit off the resources they take from the earth to produce products. In result, they created 1% For The Planet with the mission for companies of all sizes to commit 1% of their profits to organizations protecting those same resources. EcoVibe joins other companies like Honest Tea and Boxed Water in this commitment to lead by example and protect the environment.

But what products does EcoVibe offer? From home decor like rugs, pillows, lighting, and furniture, to apparel like shoes, jumpsuits, and socks, it’s safe to say they are practically a one stop shop for all your lifestyle needs.

Many of these products are not only ethically made, but are also made of recycled materials like cotton, plastic, or metal. Some of these include their Pom Throw Blankets, Bobbi Indoor/Outdoor Pillow, and 14K Gold Fill Teardrop & Labradorite Drop Earrings. They have even used some upcycled cotton fabric to create face masks as well!

Additionally, EcoVibe is also passionate about houseplants. Not only do they help freshen the air in your home, but they also can really add some life to a space. They offer a wide variety of planters in all shapes and sizes to fit whatever houseplant you’re looking for.

Their line of Revival Ceramics by LBE Design is especially notable because not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but each planter is, “created with a focus on sustainability, designed with consciousness, and crafted with enduring quality.” Due to the high quality of these pieces, they will last for years to come while also giving your houseplants a great place to call home.

EcoVibe even has plant specialists to give you some green thumb tips! You can either book a virtual session online or pop by their store in Portland to learn how to really bring your leafy green friends to life. Compared to other stores, it is nice to see that EcoVibe cares about keeping the environment flourishing outside your home, while helping you bring a little of it in as well.

Overall, EcoVibe is a great option when it comes to sustainable and ethical lifestyle products. They stand out from traditional retailers for their high quality products, use of recycled materials, support of small businesses, and monetary backing for environmental causes. Additionally, they also differ from other sustainable lifestyle brands for their emphasis on houseplants being a vital part of the home.

For these reasons we have rated them 5/5, or a full mimosa glass, for their commitment to creating sustainable and ethical products. Next time you are thinking about adding a new plant or decor to your home, we invite you to give them a try. Cheers to EcoVibe!
