Three steps to make 2018 your wealthiest year, yet!

Hey babe! Happy New Year! I don't know about you, but I am super excited for 2018. My word for this year is abundance. An abundance of laughs until our bellies ache, an abundance of weekend getaways ...abundance of all things good, juicy and magical that this year has to offer. I wish that for me and for YOU.

And I know it's possible. I truly believe that we have the power to create the life of our dreams. Whatever that may look like for you.

A big part of experiencing  everything that you want in life is having money. While money can't buy everything, it certainly does buy a lot of things. And if you're like me, and loooove to travel and go to the spa, your luxury lifestyle will require some cash to make it happen.  Therefore, having a plan for how you are going to make and grow your money, is a critical piece of manifesting your dream life.

Whether you've turned a blind eye to your finances up until this point, or you wish to take your financial savviness to the next level, money is something we all to have be mindful of on a consistent basis.

It's just like fitness.  If you want to have a healthy body, you have to go to the gym and eat clean on the regular. You can't go six months without working out, and expect to have a toned, fit bod. The same goes for your money. You have to have be mindful of your daily purchases and stick to your weekly mimosa money dates in order to keep your bank account fit and be the BOSS of your money.

Follow these three steps if you are ready to be the BOSS of your money.

 1. Define what abundance looks like, and feels like, to you. Does it mean taking month-long vacations at a ski resort? Or does it look like sipping mimosas at your fave brunch spot with a girlfriend... on a Wednesday without having to answer to any one?  Gaining clarity on what abundance looks like for you will make it that much easier to manifest your dream lifestyle. Take ten or fifteen minutes to define your abundant lifestyle and write it down. If you are more of a visual person, you can even create a vision board with images that capture your dream lifestyle.

One of the important pieces to my dream lifestyle is being able to travel with my beloved. This is us visiting the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in December. I took the month off to spend quality time with him and for some much needed self-care.

2. List everything that you want and the cost associated with each item. If you want to go on a ski trip this year, how much will that cost? If you want to treat yourself to a spa day every month, how much will that cost? Calculating your dream lifestyle does two things: first, it forces you to do some research. Researching hotel costs, flight costs or massage costs puts you in an inspired state and makes the experience that much more real in your mind. Secondly, it gives you an idea of how much work you will need to put into making this dream a reality.

One of my plans is to treat myself to a yoga retreat in the mountains. Once I researched the cost of the retreat, food, travel and accommodations, the retreat seemed within my reach!

3. Create a savings plan and develop a routine for saving. Now that you are clear on what you want and how much it will cost, now you need to develop a savings plan to make this all happen. Maybe it's as simple as putting an extra $50 aside each week. Or it may require you to think about how to create more income for yourself. And then calculating how much you need to put aside each week or month in order to make it happen.
