RYSE Aero Tech: A Good Investment for the Future of Flight?

RYSE Aero Technologies is a manufacturer of an ultralight electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (eVTOL).  That’s making investing in RYSE Aero Tech an interesting opportunity for investors, so we’re going to take a deep dive into the opportunity today.

Its flagship product, the RECON, has been designed by aerospace engineers to be the safest, most reliable ultralight on the market. It is a lightweight aircraft that anyone can fly. There’s no pilot license requirement and it can fly for about 25 minutes on a full battery charge at speeds up to 63 MPH.

RYSE has already landed $39 million in potential revenue from 260+ pre-orders and is now making it possible for the everyday investor to be a part of the company’s success.

But, is investing in RYSE worth the risk? Keep reading to decide for yourself.

What is RYSE Aero Tech?

RYSE is a first mover in the aerial electric vehicle (EV) space. The U.S.-based startup has recently unveiled its RYSE Recon eVTOL, the company’s first electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for advanced air mobility.

The aircraft was the first of its kind to make an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show, a well-known tech conference that gathers the best in business and consumer technologies.

“Being the first aircraft to fly at CES is a big milestone for our company and product,” said Mick Kowitz, CEO of RYSE Aero Technologies. “Demonstrating the world’s first aerial utility vehicle (AUV) that anyone can fly at the most influential tech event in the world is an exciting opportunity for us. We have built this vehicle with the consumer in mind and we think everyone will identify with the RECON immediately.”

RECON can fly up to 25 minutes, reach a speed of 63 MPH, take off and land on water, and has six independent propulsion systems with independent, removable batteries.  It is designed to be easily mass-produced, inexpensive to maintain, and easy to fly. The patent-pending removable battery and vehicle operation systems were designed to be operated by an individual with minimal training, featuring advanced artificial intelligence and simple control systems.

With RECON, RYSE has set its eyes on redefining the eVTOL space by venturing into untapped markets, such as agronomy, land surveying, agriculture, vineyards, and other rural sectors.

Is investing in RYSE Aero Tech a good opportunity?

RYSE Aero Tech investors are looking for a strong product-market fit. Here’s how RYSE is marketing their RECON.

RYSE expects the RECON to be used for private, commercial, and government use. The aircraft’s possible applications include personal daily transportation, agronomy, land surveying, search and rescue, agriculture, vineyards, logistics, and other rural sectors.

Kowitz believes that farmers, ranchers, and other folks in rural communities can largely benefit from a vehicle like the RECON.

RECON helps farmers get to hard-to-reach areas quickly and with minimal damage to crops.

The current transportation options for farmers are by foot or horse, ATV, truck or by helicopter.  Walking and horseback are not time efficient. Using an ATV, or pickup, can ruin the soil or cause crop compaction. Helicopters are very expensive to own and operate, and require expensive training and certifications.

With RECON, farmers are able to maintain their land efficiently and at a lower cost.

Some may argue that farmers and folks in rural communities will not be open to adopting new technologies. However, Kowitz says it’s quite the contrary.

“People tend to think of farmers as low-tech, but I picked them for the exact opposite reason,” Kowitz said. “They’re actually the most innovative users in the world. They’re the first to use fully autonomous equipment like tractors that run on GPS.”

“Then there’s tracking fields and soil, doing high-definition imaging and topography analysis—farming’s very sophisticated science,” he added. “These guys are used to using high tech before everyone else.”

Farmers and ranchers may own hundreds, if not thousands, of acres of land, farms, and fields that need to be regularly maintained and analyzed.

“Being able to take a vehicle like this can get you out there as the crow flies,” Kowitz said. “If you have broken down equipment in the field, you could get there, repair it, and fly back.”

Kowitz went on to share a story about a rancher in Colorado who owned 20,000 acres.

“Every October, he {the rancher} has to send five cowboys out on horseback to come get those cattle. Those five can only cover about 20 miles a day because they’re at ground level,” Kowitz explained. “With this vehicle they can get up above to locate where the cattle are and get people more efficiently to where they are. They can save thousands of dollars just using the RECON for the location of cattle.”

Is RYSE a good investment?

If you’re wondering, “should I invest in RYSE”, at Money & Mimosas we encourage you to ask yourself three questions:

  1. What are the potential roadblocks?

  2. What is the potential growth or upside?

  3. How does this align with my values and/or overall investment strategy?

  4. missing something?

The common concerns we have read about RYSE are:

  • Is it safe?

  • If this is such a great idea, a bigger company would’ve already done it, right?

  • Is personal flying actually going to take-off?

These are all valid questions to raise. In response to the safety question, RYSE has stated:  “A helicopter has a single point of failure because of its one rotor,” he said. “We have six and we put a lot of effort into building redundancy to make sure it’s not going to come down and get you hurt.”

To the second question, eVOTLs are on the cutting edge of flight. The ingenuity, technical expertise and innovative prowess it takes to develop a cutting edge product is largely outside the scope of bigger companies that do not have the desire to take on additional risks.

Lastly, personal flying may not take off in urban areas where flight would be over congested areas. However, RECON is a practical solution for industries like agriculture where folks need its ability to traverse terrain and are eager for advanced technologies to improve their margins and efficiencies.

In terms of how investing in RYSE fits your personal values and investment strategy, we encourage you to review the company’s team and approach to see if it is aligned with your vision.

Overall, we see huge potential for RYSE Aero Tech.  Farmers spend $52B on equipment each year and RYSE already has $39M in potential revenue from 260+ reservations.
